Andrew Watts leads Newtecnic, an international world leader in the engineering design and architectural design of complex, highly ambitious construction projects and advanced building envelope systems. The company undertakes the engineering and architectural design of building structures, facades and MEP installations in partnership with leading international developers and large contractors. Newtecnic are holders of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise and is ranked in the top three of New Civil Engineer 100 Companies of the Year 2019.
In partnership with the Engineering Departments of Cambridge University and the University of Houston. Newtecnic’s R&D team analyses, develops, tests, validates and specifies new building products, technologies and methods. Their ‘Modern Construction Series’ of university textbooks forms an essential part of their current work and research. Newtecnic has offices in the US, the UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Hong Kong.
Andrew is an engineer-architect and is a Fellow of three UK engineering institutions which represent his set of interests in engineering design: structures with the Institution of Civil Engineers; facades with the Institution of Engineering Designers; mechanical and electrical assemblies with the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He holds charterships in the UK for engineering and for architecture from the Institution of Engineering Designers and the Royal Institute of British Architects. In the US, where he is based in Texas, Andrew is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
